550K Long Shaft Variable Resistor
Couldn't load pickup availability
The magic of Old Tone is not just the secret magic hidden in the pickup, the electronic parts are equally important!
In 2016, when the world was in favor of transparent modern sounds, Jiang Guitar launched the ultra-low-precision variable resistor Emerson, which allows the pickup to show a transparent performance closest to its value when passing through the variable resistor.
In 2022, the world has already seen a trend of vintage sounds, launching this Vintage Inspired Pickups and VIPots made by Bourns of Japan.
In the 1950s, Gibson and many other brands preferred to use the American-made Centralab, whose linear control became the perfect linear display of the old variable resistor. Its performance on the guitar will impress you no matter which part you play, so much so that some people are willing to spend 4,500 yuan to buy a vintage original variable resistor.
The linear display of this ancient feeling is not found in current variable resistors, which makes Vintage Inspired Pickups confused and looking for variable resistors that can be reproduced by Centralab. There are three manufacturers of variable resistors: 1. CTS 2. Bourns 3. Alpha. Only Bourns is very interested in experimenting with production. After a year of experimentation, we also bought a lot of variable resistors from the 1950s. (4500 pieces of induced core)
Finally, VIPots perfectly reproduced it, with the same audio taper (audio linearity), US specifications (3/8" hole available), and an accuracy of plus or minus 15%.
- 550kOhm +/- 15%
- 3/4" long shaft
- 24 teeth knurled split shaft (24 teeth)
*The grounding pin cannot be concave, a line must be made for it
* Accuracy cannot be selected
